Do I need to clean with anything other than water?

For Waterblock XE flooring, regular cleaning with a well-wrung mop and water is sufficient. If additional cleaning is needed, use a solution of 1 cup vinegar per gallon of water or 1/3 cup non-sudsing ammonia per gallon of water. Avoid detergents, abrasive cleaners, soaps, waxes, or polishes. The full care guidelines can be found here.

How many pieces are in an individual box, how many boxes are on a pallet, and how many pallets are in a 20-foot container?

What is the AC rating of this product?

Waterblock XE has an AC3 rating.

Do you have to use a moisture barrier?

For Waterblock XE, the need for a vapour barrier depends on your subfloor. Concrete subfloors require a 6-mil polyethylene vapour barrier. Wooden subfloors do not require a vapour barrier unless there is a crawl space underneath, in which case you should place a 6-mil polyethylene vapour barrier over the ground in the crawl space.

Does this floor need underlay?

Waterblock XE requires an additional underlay. With a concrete subfloor, you need to add a 6-mil polyethylene vapour barrier. With a wooden subfloor, no additional barrier is needed besides the underlay beneath the floor. If you have a wooden subfloor with a crawl space underneath, we recommend placing a 6-mil polyethylene vapour barrier over the ground in the crawl space.

What type of furniture/material can you place on the floor without using felt padding?

We recommend avoiding area rugs and mats made with natural rubber or latex, as they can cause discolouration on the floor. Urethane-backed and felt-backed rugs are safe options. For furniture, we suggest using felt or other non-abrasive protectors to prevent damage to the floor.

Can I use off-the-shelf cleaners on Waterblock XE?

Off-the-shelf cleaners can damage the flooring or cause a residue build-up, which may affect the floor's appearance and performance. Additionally, damage resulting from improper maintenance is not covered under the warranty. If such cleaners damage the flooring, it would not be considered a defect in the product itself.

Is this flooring meant to be cut on a table saw or with a utility knife?

Waterblock XE can be cut using a circular saw with a 40T carbide blade.

Can I glue it for extra protection against water?

Waterblock XE is designed to be installed as a floating floor only. Using glue or any adhesive to secure the floor will void the warranty.

Do you sell planks separately?

Waterblock XE is only sold by the carton.

If water from boots is left on the floor, can it ruin the flooring?

Waterblock XE is waterproof from the top down. As long as the installation is done correctly, with tight seams and a properly sealed outer perimeter, it can withstand everyday household spills. However, if water seeps underneath the planks, it could cause damage.

How do I clean Waterblock XE Flooring?

For general cleaning, use a dust mop or a vacuum cleaner with a hard surface attachment. For deeper cleaning, occasionally use a well-wrung mop with water only. DO NOT pour liquid directly onto the floor or use an excessively wet mop that may leave puddles or standing moisture. If needed, you can use a solution of 1 cup of vinegar per gallon of water or 1/3 cup of non-sudsing ammonia per gallon of water.

Can Waterblock XE be installed over an existing laminate floor?

Laminate flooring cannot be installed over existing laminate because both floors are floating installations. This would result in an unstable floor.

Is this flooring resistant to scratches and dents?

Waterblock XE is scratch-resistant but not scratch-proof.

Can this flooring be used on an outside deck with a canopy over it?

Waterblock XE is recommended for indoor use only.

Do you need a vapour barrier to install over linoleum?

If the linoleum is installed over concrete, a vapour barrier is required. The linoleum must also be fully adhered, and the subfloor must be flat.

Is the warranty voided if it is not installed by a professional?

This product can be installed as a DIY project or by a professional installer. To maintain the warranty, the installation guide must be followed.

Can this flooring be installed on a ceiling?

We do not recommend this type of installation, and it is not covered under warranty.

I'm looking at using this on the entire ground level and do not want room transitions. Is it possible to start in one direction and then reverse and continue backward?

The span for laminate flooring before requiring a break or transition profile is up to 12 metres (40 feet) in either direction and in doorways or openings of 1.2 metres (4 feet) or less. For double openings or wider doorways, the floor can be installed without a transition profile as long as the run does not exceed 12 metres (40 feet).

Can Waterblock XE flooring be installed over tile?

Yes, it can be installed over tile, provided the subfloor is clean, flat, dry, and secure, and meets all local building code requirements.

I'm thinking of putting this down in my workout room.

If you have weight or exercise equipment, we recommend using flat, non-staining composition furniture protectors of an appropriate size under the legs or base of the equipment. To avoid potential damage, always lift and place weights or equipment gently on the floor rather than sliding it across the surface.

Can I install this over a ceramic floor?

Waterblock XE requires a clean, dry, and secure subfloor that meets local building codes. Remove any bumps or peaks from the subfloor and fill depressions with a floor levelling compound to ensure unevenness does not exceed 4.7 mm (3/16 inch) over a 3-meter (10-foot) span. As long as the ceramic floor meets these requirements, Waterblock XE can be installed on top.

We want to install this on our concrete floor. Some parts are slightly uneven—will this matter?

Can I use an office chair with plastic wheels on this flooring?

We recommend using rubber wheels or a chair mat.

Can I install this flooring before kitchen cabinets and put the cabinets on top of the flooring?
